There are so many exciting endeavors underway at the Delaware County Historical Society. Volunteers are needed more than ever! No matter what your skills, interests, or availability, there is a place for you.
The Delaware County Historical Society was founded 70 years ago by the efforts of dedicated volunteers. They are community people working to discover, preserve, and share the rich history of Delaware County Ohio.
The Historical Society reaches out to our community and its visitors with year-round events and programs. You could help a homeowner research the provenance of their homestead or take a traveling “history cart” to our schools, to keep our history alive.
You could research our history and catalog photos, documents, and objects. Or maybe research, author, edit, publish, and present on local history topics. Use your skills to photograph and video-graph to help preserve history as well as comparing yesteryear to today.
Volunteering at the Historical Society is a great way to learn more about the Delaware community. You may pick up new skills as they provide “on-the-job” training. Whatever your skills, your contributions are needed and will be appreciated. Not only that, enjoy working together with like-minded people and have a good time.
Attend their Volunteer Fair and meet the Committee Chairs, Volunteer Coordinators and Project Managers and discuss their activities and projects. Mingle with them and current volunteers over refreshments. This collegial approach to volunteer recruitment has been a tradition in the Society for years.
Join in the fun on Thursday, March 23, 7-9 pm at The Barn at Stratford
