Free Summer Lunch Program

This is an annual Delaware City Schools program, provided in partnership with Andrews House, Woodward Family Resource Center and Delaware City Schools.

The Free Summer Lunch is open to anyone 18 years of age and younger and runs June 4 – August 10 at Woodward Elementary School, 200 S. Washington St., Delaware, OH, between 12:00 and 1:00 pm.

They need between 5-7 people to help out each day.  On Fridays, a few more helpers are needed to cover extra, end of the week activities.  Volunteers help with such things as opening those difficult to open items, keeping the lunch tables and facility clean, conducting lunch counts, sanitizing hands, and on Fridays, passing out bags of food for the weekend. Volunteers must be 18 years old and be accompanied by an adult. Youth groups must have adult supervision.

Partners who are willing to come and provide a fun activity for the children once they are done eating are also sought.  Set up for the lunch program begins around 11:45am and the program is usually finished cleaning up around 1:15pm each day.

Volunteer one time, once or twice a week or on specific date(s).
