Make A Difference Delaware County
Connections Volunteer Center is proud to announce that we’ve changed the name of our award-winning day of service to Make A Difference Delaware County to better convey the local, county-wide nature of the event.
Make A Difference Delaware County provides an opportunity for people of all ages to gather together in the counties largest single-day of volunteering. No matter who you are or your abilities, everyone has the power to do something that improves the life of another.
Delaware County’s intergenerational Make A Difference Delaware County event is open everyone. It is the perfect occasion for individuals, families, and groups of all ages to volunteer together as a team. Just one morning of volunteering truly makes a lasting difference.
On the fourth Saturday in October, hundreds of volunteers gather, beginning at 8:00 am at Camp Lazarus, or at Jessica Forman’s State Farm Insurance office in Sunbury, with a light breakfast and job assignments for the volunteers. Volunteers then go out at 9:00 am to older adult’s homes and area non-profits to do outdoor chores or a special project. Volunteers then return to Camp Lazarus around noon to turn in their paperwork, grab a little lunch and talk about how much fun they had and how much it meant to the people they served.
In addition, you have the opportunity to bring in your pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters to make a CHANGE in Delaware County. Connections Volunteer Center needs your spare change to help continue to make a difference all year long. Collect any spare change that you find in your car, couch cushions, bank account or miscellaneous locations and are willing to contribute. We will be collecting all spare change at registration. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Registration for 2018 Make a Difference Delaware County is now closed.
