Kitchen Assistants: Their busy kitchen needs help to get meals prepared for homebound Meals On Wheels clients. The food is 80% made from scratch by both staff and volunteers. Volunteers needed to cover positions vacated by “snowbirds” this winter. Two to three hour shifts are available 8:00 am – 1:00pm, help with cooking to scooping to serving. Must be able to stand for a couple of hours and enjoy working in a kitchen. Free lunch for volunteering!
Meals On Wheels Drivers: Both short and long-term assignments are available to deliver hot meals to homebound seniors in Delaware County. Make new friends and feel good about your service! The hours are approximately 10:30am-1:00pm, Mon – Fri. Mileage reimbursement is provided as well as a free lunch.
Home Chores: Home Chores volunteers complete indoor and outdoor chores for clients in Delaware County. Volunteers select the chores that they are comfortable performing. Flexible scheduling and mileage reimbursement is provided. The preference is for volunteers to accept at least one chore a month.
Transportation: Volunteers are needed to transport homebound seniors to medical appointments. Use your own car, mileage reimbursement is available. Volunteers choose the assignments that fit with their schedule & comfort-level. The clients are very grateful!
