SourcePoint provides community support for older adults with in-home care services such as Meals on Wheels, help with chores, and transportation to medical appointments, as well as resources and support for family caregivers. They are also a source for both fun and fitness for older adults. Their 44,000-square-foot enrichment center on Cheshire Road hosts a wide variety of programs and trips. SourcePoint was founded by volunteers, and they continue to remain a vital key to their success.
SourcePoint’s busy kitchen is in need of volunteers to help get the meals prepared for homebound Meals On Wheels clients. The food is 80% made from scratch by both staff and volunteers. Volunteers are needed to cover positions vacated by “snowbirds” this winter. Two to three hour shifts are available between 8:00am and 1:00pm as well as a variety of levels, from cooking to scooping to serving. Must be able to stand for a couple of hours and enjoy working in a kitchen. Free lunch for volunteering!
Voluteers needed in the dining center, Café 55. Volunteers assist with registration, carrying trays, set up, and clearing tables. Those with outgoing, social personalities who can do light lifting and move around easily would be perfect for this position. 3 hour time commitment from 10:30am-1:30pm. Free lunch!
Volunteers are needed to staff the pool desk; assist with signing in and monitoring the area. Good sit down job. CRP training is provided and a free pool walking session is provided for volunteering.
Meals On Wheels is seeking drivers to deliver in the Sunbury area. No need to come to SourcePoint, the meals and supplies are dropped off and picked up at Rainbow Place Apartment in Sunbury.
Volunteers must be age 18 or above, or accompanied by an adult.
