Purpose: We will focus on diverse approaches to providing culturally relevant and responsive supervision while discussing the elements of being an effective social work supervisor. We will review scopes of practice, cultural awareness and issues of cross cultural supervision. Learning will also include opportunities for practice and supportive feedback.

Learning objectives: By the conclusion of this workshop, participants will:

*Identify the types, roles and responsibility of clinical supervision.

*Identify cross cultural challenges and opportunities for supportive engagement.

*Increased capacity to support and lead supervisees.

About the Presenter: Erin Upchurch (she/her) MSSA, LISW-S presently serves as the Executive Director for Kaleidoscope Youth Center, an organization that works to serve and support LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults. She is a seasoned advocate, community leader, and facilitator of conversations centered on reducing harm related to the experiences of oppression for marginalized and minority communities; and specializes in working with youth and families in areas of mental health, substance use, and trauma recovery.
