Somatic Techniques:
The Body’s Brain



*To introduce participants to a new paradigm of healing; somatic techniques. The mind and body working together or as some professionals know the body has a brain of sorts.

*To provide space to practice two of many somatic techniques, EFT and Dancing Mindfulness.

Learning objectives:
By the conclusion of this workshop, participants will:

*Participants will learn the science, theory and processes of adding somatic techniques to their toolbox if they have been using only cognitive techniques.

*These EFT and Dancing Mindfulness techniques can be used with clients or with professionals for Self Care.

*There will be more than one hour of lab work, where participants will practice the techniques presented.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Dennison PhD, LISW-S received her doctorate in psychology from California Southern University and her undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work from The Ohio State University, is the owner of Dennison & Associates, Inc. a wellness firm in Powell, Ohio. She has been a field instructor for Capital University and Th  Ohio State University. She has over 35 years of professional experience. She is a certified EMDR therapist and hypnotherapist. She is a published author and internationally lectures on the somatic effects of trauma and loss on the body. She has been a featured psychotherapist on TLC Hoarding Buried Alive. Dr. Dennison is a professional member of: NASW, National Association of Social Workers, EMDRIA, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing International Association and The Institute for Hypnotherapy.
