Delaware County Historical Society

If you enjoy decorating, like moving things around to display them better, and want to have some of your work displayed, this volunteer opportunity is for you.  The Delaware County Historical Society creates displays about historical events in Delaware in the window of the Hair Studio, 33 N. Sandusky St., Delaware, Ohio  43015.  You will be able to use your creative and design talent to choose a topic and create a display from a wealth of Delaware artifacts.

If you have a “green thumb” and would like to use your talents, they have beautiful properties at 2690 Stratford Road and at 157 E. William, both with several gardens that need some tender love and care.  They are looking for someone to chair the Garden Committee to help keep these gardens beautiful.  You would help recruit and oversee other volunteers, organize “adopt a bed” program for individual volunteers and coordinate with community groups for clean-up, planting and mulching.

History is made up of stories, and Delaware County history is no exception.  Capturing these stories is one of the passions of the Delaware County Historical Society.  If you like talking to people about their lives, their passions, their experiences, you can help the Delaware County Historical Society keep these stories alive.  They are looking for people who would like to interview prominent citizens, every day people, and everyone in between to make sure that the “stories” of Delaware County are preserved.  Training in interviewing provided plus everything you need to “get the story.
