SourcePoint provides community support for older adults with in-home care services such as Meals on Wheels, help with chores, and transportation to medical appointments, as well as resources and support for family caregivers. They are a source for both fun and fitness for older adults. SourcePoint was founded by volunteers, and they continue to remain a vital key to their success. Volunteers are welcome to get involved, whether for just one day, or for an ongoing experience.
Kitchen Assistants: SourcePoint’s busy kitchen is in need of volunteers to help get the meals prepared for homebound Meals On Wheels clients. Two to three hour shifts are available between 8:00am and 1:00pm as well as a variety of levels, from cooking to scooping to serving. Must be able to stand for a couple of hours and enjoy working in a kitchen. Free lunch for volunteering!
Meals On Wheels Drivers: Both short and long-term assignments are available to deliver hot meals to homebound seniors in Delaware County. Make new friends and feel good about your service! The hours are approximately 10:30am-1:00pm, Mon – Fri. Mileage reimbursement is provided as well as a free lunch.
Medical Transportation: Volunteers are needed to transport homebound seniors to medical appointments. Use your own car, mileage reimbursement is available. Volunteers choose the assignments that fit with their schedule and comfort-level. The clients are very grateful!
Caregiver Relief Companion: Get matched with a family to provide friendly visits with a homebound senior while the caregiver takes a much needed break. Flexible schedule, no personal care duties, just your time.
Volunteers must be age 18 or above, or accompanied by an adult.
