Present Psychomotor Therapy

**The Body remembers traumatic insults, like the History of organizations is its memory
**Implicit memory (unconscious, procedural memory, tie shoes)
**Unhealthy somatic experiences can be unlearned and change the future
**Get body or organizations back into neutral so that they are not driven by unhealthy negative emotions or history

Learning objectives:   

Participants will learn that Somatic Psychology Techniques can provide:
**Energetic, emotional, interactional, engaging type of therapy
**Bring awareness to the body
**Work with body memories
**Begin with bottom up attention, integrate into top down attention
**Unlearn stressful reactions with somatic experiences
**Complete affective cycle responses, return to neutral, parasympathetic
**Goal of treatment to create bi-somatic work (left and right brain healing)

About the Presenter:

Dr. Dennison PhD, LISW-S received her doctorate in psychology from California Southern University and her undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work from The Ohio State University, is the owner of Dennison & Associates, Inc. a wellness firm in Powell, Ohio. She has been a field instructor for Capital University and The Ohio State University. She has over 35 years of professional experience. She is a certified EMDR therapist and hypnotherapist. She is a published author and internationally lectures on the somatic effects of trauma and loss on the body. She has been a featured psychotherapist on TLC Hoarding Buried Alive. Dr. Dennison is a professional member of: NASW, National Association of Social Workers, EMDRIA, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing International Association and The Institute for Hypnotherapy.
