Purpose:
To develop an understanding of Bowen’s family systems theory and add the more current working therapeutic approach of the Richard Schwartz model of Internal Family Systems.
Learning Objectives:

By the conclusion of this workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the strengths and usefulness of 3 theoretical approaches: Bowen, Schwartz, Levine; and how Compassion is a necessary transmitter to any family systems resiliency.
  • Learn the impact of learned family Roles, Rules, Boundaries, Triangulation and Adaptation on Family Resilience.
  • Practice stabilizing techniques to reestablish family system connections.

Dr. Dennison received her doctorate in psychology from California Southern University and her undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work from The Ohio State University. She is the owner ofΒ Dennison & Associates, Inc. a wellness firm in Powell, Ohio. She has been a field instructor for CapitalΒ University and The Ohio State University. She has over 35 years of professional experience. She is aΒ certified EMDR therapist and hypnotherapist. She is a published author and internationally lectures onΒ the somatic effects of trauma and loss on the body. She has been a featured psychotherapist on TLCΒ Hoarding Buried Alive. Dr. Dennison is a professional member of: NASW, National Association of SocialΒ Workers, EMDRIA, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing International Association and TheΒ Institute for Hypnotherapy.
